Small Size Issue

Dearest beloved customers of Orked's,
I would like to apologize with all my heart for not selling Orked's Cheese Dessert in small sizes. This is due to the prevention of wastage of ingredients. FYI, this dessert contains both cream and cheese, which has a very short life span compared to butter. If I do have to keep the leftovers for future use, then I can't guarantee the freshness of your desserts. This is also one of the reasons why I need to check for cream and cheese availability in stores before I can confirm your order. Because I buy them especially to make your cheese desserts and sell it to you with guaranteed quality of freshness. And since Brunei has such insufficient supply of cream and cheese as well. However, if you insist on buying the dessert in small size I will definitely make them for you. But for only a minimum order of two. That way, you will have them in small sizes and I won't have any cream and cheese leftovers in my fridge. One good news for both you and me! =) Thank you for reading this post and I hope you understand this matter. This is for the sake to provide products of good qualities for all of you. For your enjoyment as well as your indulgence.

Lots of love,
Orked

NEW! Orked's Creme Caramel

Creme Caramel or better known as Leche Flan by the Filipinos, is a very old dessert in my family. I have learned how to make this particular dessert from my grandmother, Nene Lampoh. This succulent dessert is quite distinctive for its sweetness. It's one sweetness in life you won't be able to forget. Because nothing tastes as good as the luscious Orked's Creme Caramel.

-Caramelized sugar base-

-The Leche Flan before steam-

-After an hour of steam-

-One "syrup-y" dessert-

I haven't calculated my expenses to make this dessert. I will do soon and update you, Orked's desserts lovers, on both Facebook and here.

NEW! Orked's Mars Cheese Dessert

mars_1415709c

I've been in creative mode recently. Cream cheese, Mars bars and Milo kept running through my mind. And look what I came up with. I present you, Orked's very own Mars Cheese Dessert! Ta-da!

I actually made up the recipe of this dessert, just based on my basic knowledge of making cold desserts. I first made this dessert for a BBQ at the beach with some friends. It was a potluck BBQ, so I suggested on bringing along some dessert. I've been wanting to try to make this but just didn't have the urge to make them until this very BBQ at the beach. So, I went off to Giant Hypermarket in the morning and bought the ingredients for this dessert. Instead of using Mars bars, I used Toblerone. I bought the one with honeycomb bits in it. The boys and girl *winks to Diyah* totally loved it. My made up recipe succeeded in pleasing the young hearts. But then, I decided to substitute the Toblerone with Mars bars when my mum asked me to make this very same dessert for a family gathering last Monday. And Alhamdulillah, it is again a success! Approved by many people too. And totally stole my grans', uncles', aunts' and cousins' hearts. So, I made my final decision to sell this very dessert of mine with a variety of chocolate bars for you to choose from.

- Crushed biscuits base-

-Cream cheese layer with Mars bars filling-

-Milo sprinkles to top it off-

-Mouth-watering layers of pure indulgence-

I'm very sure that this cold dessert, Orked's Mars Cheese Dessert, will satisfy the taste buds of Cheese Cake lovers. You will get to choose the type of chocolate you want, either Mars, Snickers, Picnic, Twix or Toblerone, at an affordable price of just $20. It's totally worth it!

*If you have any suggestions regarding the type of chocolate bars you want, please do inform me.
**It is recommended to order one day in advance.
***Subject to availability.

The Story of Orked's Dark Chocolate Mud Cake

I am a huge fan of dark chocolates and loves to indulge myself with chocolate cakes. My first taste of a rich, indulging chocolate cake was a Polo Club's Chocolate Cake. I didn't get the actual name of the cake because it was a Hari Raya gift from my aunt, Datin Hjh Rosnah, (who happens to be a fanatic dark chocolate fan too) the wife of my uncle, Dato Paduka Hj Abd Rahman Hj Mohiddin. The cake was totally fabulous and really satisfying my chocolate craves. So, I made an effort to do a research on every chocolate cookbooks I have on my shelf and found a recipe, which I thought would have a really chocolatey outcome. And it totally is! It is so rich and chocolatey that my family loved it a lot as well as everybody. It has been an all time favourite and since then, I never failed to make one (or more) every year for serving during my Hari Raya open house. My first attempt on making the cake was a complete success.

-My "first attempt" D.C. Mud Cake for Raya 2005-

-My first attempt in making icing for writing on the D.C. Mud Cake-

-My biggest D.C. Mud cake ever! (14" by 10")-

-A 14" by 10" Birthday D.C. Mud Cake-

-A specially decorated "Hantaran" D.C. Mud Cake-

Orked's Dark Chocolate Mud Cake is selling at the price of $35. It is 11" in diameter, covered in hazelnut chocolate frosting and and sprinkled with crushed nuts on the side! You can either have it as 11" diameter circle cake or 9" by 9" square cake. Or have it extra large (14" by 10" rectangle cake) at $70. Extra charges will be charged for fresh fruits garnishes. This cake is definitely worth buying!

Hjh Rose Inspired Peach Trifle

The first time I tasted this dessert was during my ex-boss, Hjh Rose's Hari Raya open house. I went there with my other half and we shared a small portion of this peach dessert after having a hearty main course. My other half loved it so much that he ate most of the portion I took and even asked me to take more. While he eats them, I was thinking of the ingredients used in the dessert. Since he loved it a lot, I made an attempt making them myself at home using a recipe I came up with based on just my taste buds. And guess what? He totally approves them! At the same time, I took the opportunity to ask my ex-boss for the recipe and to my surprise, her recipe turned out to be the same as the one I came up with. Anyway, I would like to thank my ex-boss, Hjh Rosmawati, of RBTS for the recipe she gave me. It had been a good use for me. I definitely stole many people's hearts with that dessert of hers.

Today, I made one for a BBQ dinner tonight at my other half's place hoping everyone would enjoy it the way we never failed to enjoy them.

-First layer: Biscuits in cream-

-Second layer: Sliced peaches-

-Third layer: More cream with little surprises-

-Finally, a sprinkle of Nestum-

-Ready for serving-

I haven't place a price for this delicacy because I haven't got the time to calculate my expenses to make this. Soon, I will post up the price for it. So, stay tuned!
